Study Visas

Student Visa

Overview

The UK Student Visa, previously known as the Tier 4 (General) Visa, allows international students to study in the UK at an accredited institution. It is applicable for higher education courses such as undergraduate, postgraduate, or doctoral programs.

Applicants must have an unconditional offer from a UK-based educational institution, sufficient funds to support themselves and pay tuition fees, and demonstrate proficiency in English.

The visa is granted based on the length of the course, with an additional period to cover preparation or travel time before the course begins.

Child Student Visa

This visa is for children aged 4 to 17 who wish to study at an independent school in the UK. It replaces the Tier 4 (Child) Student Visa.

Applicants must have a confirmed place at an independent school in the UK, sufficient financial resources to cover tuition fees and living costs, and parental or guardian consent.

The visa is valid for the length of the course, with some additional time before and after the course ends.

Graduate Visa

Overview

The Graduate Visa allows international students who have successfully completed an eligible course in the UK to remain in the country for up to two years (or three years for doctoral graduates) to work or look for work.

Applicants must have completed a degree at a UK university or higher education provider and have a valid student visa at the time of application.

The visa is valid for two years for bachelor’s or master’s degree holders and three years for doctoral graduates. It cannot be extended but allows switching to other visa routes.

Student Dependent Visa UK

The Student Dependent Visa allows the spouse, partner, or children of a Student Visa holder to accompany them to the UK during their studies.

Dependents can apply if the student is studying at a postgraduate level or their course lasts more than nine months. Financial evidence must show the dependents can be supported while in the UK.

The visa is valid for the same duration as the primary student’s visa, allowing dependents to stay as long as the main applicant remains in the UK for their studies.
